Excellent post! You raise a great question about whey we make lists. Also, it begs the question about why we would want to visit places on someone else’s list.
I’ve been able to visit more than 500 of the “1000 places to see before you die” and while I’m grateful, I find there’s more to life and living than that.
There are lots and lots of interesting places and people and events and non-events very near to me. Sometimes going away isn’t what it’s about, but isn’t there an ee cummings poem about – to leave and come back to where you started?

Hi I was just wondering if you might know of somewhere I might find a one piece crocheted oval tablecloth pattern? I have looked on the net and found some either not one piece or not oval or just not suitable. I would like a lacy looking tablecloth pattern. I really do not want a pineapple one because I don’t do pineapples well. If you know of a site (I belong to Celt’s Vintage) I sure would appreciate it. My mom bless her soul has asked me to make her one and she has been so sick and wanted one for her birthday. Thanks so much I really appreciate any help you could give me. Love your site and have bookmarked it.

In the first pattern, Row 8 has a sequence of …K5, K13, K5…, shouldn’t it read: K5, P13, K5? Thank you for your help.

What about following the link given in the picture, Linda, and looking for yourself? You’ll see a lot more that way, and might find something you’d like to prove instead, if you can’t find a flamingo pattern.
You could also ask Mirian.

This is a fabulous collection! I appreciate the time you put into gathering this information.

I am making the Flowering Pine doily for my sister-in-law. I got to the last round and am just not able to figure it out. I think a part of it is missing and since it is an antique pattern, I can’t find an “updated” version.

Has anyone made this pattern and, if so, do you have any tips to help me understand the final round?

Any help is appreciated!

I love your pattern but I think there are two mistakes.

The first is Rows 8 and 18 of the Dishcloth should be P13, not K13. also Rows 4 and 14 of the Star of David pattern.

The second is Rows 10 and 16 of the Dishcloth should be P7 K1 P1 P7 not P6 k1 P1 K1 P6.

I’ve onlyu finished Row 10 so I haven’t checked the whole pattern as yet.
