This is what I received from Feline Flipflop from Esther πŸ™‚
The colors don’t show well, what seems to be light blue fabric under the ribbon and bookmark is actually light purple fabric, very soft and light and absolutely perfect for a scarf. I’m going to hem it and add small heart charms in the corners and give it to my big sister as a gift πŸ™‚
The furry string with tags is a package of trimming, and I got a great idea of making the tags into kitty dolls πŸ˜€
The cat brass pearls are going to be earrings to me πŸ™‚
I love the bookmark, I read a lot and I love red cats best πŸ™‚ There’s a new Whiskas ad in Swedish television, I don’t know if it’s international, but there’s this huge red maine coon or Norwegian forest cat, who’s sleeping, except when he hears the can opening in the kitchen… I am in love with that cat πŸ˜€

Esther was very clever and said that the ball was a “chew toy to the feline friend” LOL I didn’t connect at that time – cat’s don’t have chew toys LOL And as far as I know I’m the only one in the swap with a canine feline friend. He loves his new toy anyway, he was sitting by the table when I took the picture, and tried to snatch HIS toy a couple of times… after all, it was HIS, and from HIS point of view, it was I who had snatched it in the first place LOL

She also send a very pretty cat necklace with a silver cat hanging in yellow ribbon, and it’s really pretty πŸ™‚ She said that I can do what ever I wish with it, but I am perfectly happy with it as it is πŸ™‚
In this picture I’m wearing the trimming as a necklace too, it would have been a great one for that purpose too πŸ™‚ Goes well with the purple top and the silver cat πŸ™‚
I’m still having some fever in this picture… I really am not happy about how I look… I hate the fact that my hair is completely flat. My mother keeps telling me how thin my hair is… well… her fault. I was born with it πŸ˜‰ Actually, it’s the same kind of hair as my father has. But she chose him. πŸ˜€ And I hate the black bags under my eyes – also inherited from my father. Like the vampire teeth and thick cheeks and the chin… and the nose and eyebrows. Frankly, I think I look like a maniac in this picture. LOL
(Actually, I think my father is very handsome, and I’m not too bad looking myself either. ;-))

I have send two packages, and third is waiting to be packed and mailed. It should have gone today, but that is not going to happen. I’m a week late from my schedual, because of getting sick. I CAN’T WAIT to find out what the receivers think about their packages!!! They should have arrived already, and I forgot to ask for a receit, so I can’t even track the packages! Another mistake I won’t do again… So, PLEASE GOD let the packages arrive NOW and let me find out that they have arrived!

(Edited on Thursday 8 P.M. CET
The coloriffic package has arrived to Portugal, and the receiver was happy with it… PHEEEEW!!! Thank you, God! :-))

101 things in 1001 days magnify

101 things in 1001 days
It’s a bit like 43 things, but with quite tight time table – I think it’s a good thing – with a time table one will do something – like Whiplash – and even if you don’t manage to do all 101 things, you have finished some after the 1001 days, and you will feel pretty good afterwards anyway.
I was gladly surprised by 43 things, as it showed me that I actually have done and still do a lot of things.
But it also showed me that my goals change all the time – so writing 101 definate goals feels a bit… unnatural to me.
At the same time – what is 1001 days in a human’s life? Nothing. There’s nothing that says that I have to continue with the things I wanted to do during the 1001 days AFTER the days are gone. If I don’t like the things I have decided to do, I can quit – but I have at least tried and can say that “I don’t want to do that – I have tried and I don’t like it”. Right now it’s more like “Er… I don’t know… I probably won’t be doing that in the future…”

So… what would I like to do…

I want to fix my apartment and make it look the way I have always wanted my apartment to look. Wooden floors in bedroom and living room, tiles in bathroom, hallway and kitchen. Light and bright kitchen, warm and inviting; dark and mysterious living room, straight from 1001 nights; a japanese style bedroom and blue-and-white fresh and crisp bathroom.

I want to be able to read, write, speak and understand more languages than I do now.

I want to become lean and agile, start with yoga and martial arts and loose the 40-too-much kilos I’m carrying around right now.
I have a gym membership and I haven’t used it more than once… Pretty ugly, huh? I would like to use it.

I want to get my homepage in good order. Right now it’s a mess. Simply because I don’t know what to do with it.

I would like to learn to play guitar and recorder properly, I would also like to learn how to juggle and to do card tricks. I would like to be able to support myself by street “tricks” and walk through the world.

I would like to get a nice art collection. I dreamt about an old woman living in a beautiful Jugend house filled with graphic sheets by all the great scandinavian fin de siΓ¨cle artists… and I was so jealous. But it isn’t that expensive. A graphic sheet costs only a couple of thousand cronas, even when it’s Helene Schjerfbeck, Albert Edelfeldt, Carl Larsson or Anders Zorn. I would also love to own a couple of small sculptures.

I would love to learn to use a camera well. I so admire all the people at Flickr, who are so talented, skilled and enthusiastic, taking wonderful pictures every day… I would love to illustrate my own craft book, cook book or seasonal celebrations book with my own photos.

I would love to translate some books and write a couple too πŸ˜€

It would be great to become a vegetarian. But I will NOT give up eggs and milk. Never! It would be lovely to be sure that the eggs and milk are from truly happy cows and hens though.

I would love to travel around the world.

I would love to be a person who writes letters and postcards and who sends packages.

I really would love to learn to fly, parachoot, drive a motorcycle and have a nice motorcycle too… With a side wagon, so that my husband and our dog can sit there, when I drive – or the dog and I, when he drives πŸ˜€ That would be really cool πŸ™‚

I would love to pay off all my and my husband’s debts. And then start saving money for bigger projects like renovating the apartment, traveling, getting a motorcycle and flying lessons…

I would like to get my loom back, and use it too. I would like to get a spinning rock, and use that too. I would like to use all my skills and actually produce something.

I want to learn to keep art journals and do it too.

I want to learn to controll my psychic skills, become a better shaman and actually become a shaman, who works for the community instead of… well… yeah.

To live without fear and addictions.

Get my teeth fixed.

Start celebrating the Sabbats as I want to celebrate them.

I would like to learn to do a Gothic make-up, get a Gothic clothing style and get a couple of tattoos and more piercings. Or perhaps not. I suppose I’m not quite Gothic, as I would like to wear colors, and I really don’t like make-up… waste of time, money and resources. But I would like to get my own style in clothing as well, something Oriental fantasy style thingy… Layers, colors and embellishments πŸ˜€

And this is about 40 things to do… What the heck to invent for the rest?

HAIR!!!

HAIR!!! magnify

In series “How Stupid Can One Look”. Pretty stupid πŸ˜€

Still sick… It’s been a week, and by all logic this should be over. It isn’t. In this picture the swollenness of my nose is particularly visible. The Great Bergius Nose. I wonder why some genetic things follow in the family for hundreds of years… like the Habsburg nose. Luckily my husband especially loves my nose. I think it’s the ugliest thing on my face.

But the hair is beautiful. πŸ™‚

June is blue…

So I was thinking of some Litha things – to me Midsummer is blue and yellow – and red and white – crisp, bright colors. Perhaps a little green too. Water and sky, beach and sunshine.

Another theme is Finland – Finland is going to have it’s 89th birthday in December 6th, and it would be nice to have a blue-and-white theme party on that day. Of course, it’s half a year in the future, but better start too early than too late. And perhaps one could use some blues and whites as a counterbalance to all Americana πŸ™‚

There’s some really cool American patriotic sock patterns around the net.

These are not too cool, but not bad πŸ™‚ I love the star buttons πŸ™‚

There’s a couple of problems with this though… the Finnish flag may not be worn or used as anything else but a flag. So a lot of American patriotic projects cannot be “translated into Finnish”.
The second problem is that in the Finnish flag there’s a blue cross on white base. Stars and stripes are fun, look nice how ever you do them, but I’m not Christian and I don’t want to have things decorated with blue crosses… except the Finnish flag, of course LOL But, hey, challenges make the things only more fun, don’t they πŸ˜‰
The Finnish coat of arms is pretty nice too πŸ™‚ There’s a lot of things one can do with lions πŸ™‚

With more than two years to next Olympics, the sporting knitters can be happy about the Soccer World Championships (In two weeks!). And, of course, there’s a couple of challenges announced already.
Yarnmonkey has a Knitting World Cup
and here’s a Swedish version of the same, Fotbollsstickning. A lot more relaxed πŸ™‚

I am not the least interested in soccer. Olympics is one thing, but soccer… nah. Perhaps because Finland is not playing… Nah, I am just not interested.

One thing I could think of knitting is a supporter scarf… Whether it is for Gryffindor or your country, it’s always an appreciated thing. I know my Danish husband would love a scarf in red and white πŸ™‚

(The happy lady with her 450 feet long supporter scarf is Christina Brockway, passionate supporter of Liverpool and a passionate knitter. Inspirational? Or perhaps a warning example LOL)
