This is “Mom’s Pineapple Basket” from Crochet Memories

Pineapple in the title has nothing to do with the fruit, and all to do with this particular crochet pattern. It is very popular and impressive pattern, and rather easy, I think. Anyway, it is one third of the second theme at Crochet Talk’s Ultimate Crocheted Kitchen Gift Basket

The idea is to crochet one item a week and thus create a nice gift basket in a month without much work. All you need to do is to pick a theme and crochet ๐Ÿ™‚

*** The pattern is at freepatterns.com. All the patterns there are free FOR MEMBERS – but it doesn’t cost anything. You just need to register…

Crocheted roses
Oh, my! This is like the afghan I started to make with my plant dyed yarns!!! One of the things the moths ate up. Just the same colors! And every square surrounded with black!

And I want to make my sister a fair isle tam, scarf and gloves…ย  rather traditional, with soft blues, greens, teals… very “watery” in colors, as my sister is Cancer.

And then I want to make some Teva Durham loop-d-loop stuff… like the braided neck piece and the leaf sweater.

This origami kimono isn’t bad either… maybe in pink or turquoise… ๐Ÿ˜‰

Lanaknits have really nice patterns too ๐Ÿ™‚

Bella Paquita… *yum*

Mermaid Mesh Tunic

I think people who do stuff like this are amazing…
And I want to be amazing too, so I plan to make these glass marble magnets too!
(Halloween Glass Marble Magnets from Craftiness)

And many sorts of cookies, as I don’t have any kids either.

I have a horrible… what’s it’s called… “running nose” – allergic… er… such. What ever it is called.ย  It fills my sinuses during the night and I wake up in the middle of the night with my ears aking – I can imagine it feels like that when someone pushes a knitting needle into your ear.
And the snot drops during the daytime, the table is filled with used paper handkerchiefs. Our dog loves to eat them and steals them when ever he can… I think it’s a bit disgusting.

It reminds me of the story I read somewhere – in Europe the handkerchiefs were most precious and beautiful, thin linen, embroidered and decorated with lace. When the Europeans went to Japan – where they used paper handkerchiefs already at the 17th century – the Japanese were horrified by the European madness – how they wrapped their bodily fluids into these wonderful pieces of clothe and put into their pockets. Like used toilet paper. ๐Ÿ˜€

My nose has been running since I was 10. There’s always used hankies in all my pockets, and I think it serves every possible pick-pocket right to put their fingers into a used, moist paper hanky… >:-)
