These are unknit, so I don’t know what they will be. I haven’t either doublechecked the transcription, so there can be errors.
I’d like to see what you create with these charts ๐Ÿ™‚

The corrected version

Note 24.11.2006
As Rachel points out, the letters are not quite correct. The Nun should be on the left side of Shin, not the right side…
Shin stands for “sham” – “there”, in Israel the letter is Pe standing for “po” – “here”.
It’s actually better with “nun – gimel” because those letters stand for “great miracle – nes gadol”, and that’s what Chanukkah stands for too ๐Ÿ˜€

Er… hmm… uh… What to write in a block?

It’s the last of Socktober, and I managed to knit one pair of socks. One pair. Me – one (1) pair. I, who can knit a pair of socks in 12 hours. I’m a little disappointed, but… There will be more Socktobers ๐Ÿ™‚

Tomorrow will start Lacevember. Let’s see if I can produce something then. Hopefully.

I have been thinking about wash- and dishcloths. I have drawn a couple of charts, and should knit them to see if they work and what they will look like.

I have been making my Samhain / Halloween swaps… Here’s a “bat kids in bed”. It looked so hilarious I just had to take a picture ๐Ÿ˜€ The black thingy in the background is Nekoyama’s Amineko cat being made. Legs, tail, ears, muzzle and face are missing, but he has already a silk ribbon LOL

I have also made a double-knit “mรถssa” (beanie) to my hubby.

Beautiful flowers…

In the autumn I gathered all my sorrows and buried them in my garden.
And when April returned and spring came to wed the earth,
there grew in my garden beautiful flowers unlike all other flowers.

Dishcloths…

halloween dishcloths
It’s easy to do, quick, nice size to learn a new technique, cheap, useful and most often even pretty. No wonder knitters and crocheters get crazy about dishcloths.

There’s an ocean of free dishcloth patterns, several groups in all kinds of internet forums and dozens of blogs dedicated to the art and joy of knitting dishcloths. And I am grateful ๐Ÿ˜‰

Needlework

I love needlework. It’s so easy and pretty ๐Ÿ™‚ It speaks to the homewify girly romantic Victorian part of my soul ๐Ÿ™‚

Look at these things:
The Needles With Eyes

And minimysteries, embroidered by Karen Rachael Buttler… Exquisite!!!
Ellynderia’s minimysteries
Solslett’s minimysteries
Annette’s minimysteries
Anna’s mini mystery J

I love the Chatelaine designs… So inspiring, addictive and beautiful ๐Ÿ™‚

The thing is that I am embroidering an Imbolc throw or afghan of what to call it. But I keep pushing it out of my mind all the time, and making all kinds of other things before it. And this irritates me… the thing is worth getting done and I’d love to use it and be proud of my work, but… it’s not “important”. I think I need to make it important…
Ok, I’ll do that the first thing next year, before I do anything else.

About Nan Halberg
Sounds like an interesting woman. ๐Ÿ™‚

BTW, I love temari balls
Here’s some more instructions ๐Ÿ˜‰
And here’s a little more
and then some ๐Ÿ˜‰
And just a little bit more ๐Ÿ˜€

There was a cherry-tree. Its bloomy snows
Cool even now the fevered sight that knows
No more its airy visions of pure joy —
As when you were a boy.

There was a cherry-tree. The Bluejay sat
His blue against its white — O blue as jet
He seemed there then!– But now — Whoever knew
He was so pale a blue!

There was a cherry-tree — our child-eyes saw
The miracle:– Its pure white snows did thaw
Into a crimson fruitage, far too sweet
But for a boy to eat.

There was a cherry-tree, give thanks and joy!–
There was a bloom of snow — There was a boy —
There was a bluejay of the realest blue —
And fruit for both of you.

— James Whitcomb Riley

Picture is The Northwoods Holiday Sock Collection from Blackberry Ridge – time to knit those Yule socks!

Mystery Sock KAL
You don’t need to be part of it to make a favor for all sock knitters around the net and create illustration to a sock pattern. All the sock patterns are worth knitting, and some of them might even be beautiful ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here’s sock knitters

Here’s a very nice Norwegian page “Sokker 2006” with a challenge for every month.
The patterns are mostly in English
See what Baglady made of them ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s Nanette Blanchard’s photos of socks

and just look at Blackberry Ridge’s Sock kits and collections… (scroll down…) Don’t these pictures just make you want to knit socks?

I wish I was rich… I’d buy all these patterns and all the yarns needed and knitted, knitted, knitted…

And a small reminder ๐Ÿ˜‰
